A PACKED CALENDAR OF EVENTS FOR ITAMA

The timeless style of Itama goes on tour in some of the most beautiful marinas in the Mediterranean, including Fano, Naples, Palma di Majorca and Porto Rotondo.

April 2009 – Itama, from 2004 part of Ferretti Group - world leader in the luxury motoryacht design, construction and marketing sector - has successfully concluded its round of international spring events and is now ready to go on stage in some of the most important yachting locations in the Mediterranean.

Itama’s April calendar kicks off with the Fano Yacht Festival, that reaches its fifth edition this year. Scheduled to take place from April 22 to 26, the Festival will be held in the beautifully restyled setting of the Marina dei Cesari Tourist Harbour in Fano. Itama and MOMA, the brand’s exclusive distributor for Italy will take part at this 2009 edition of the Adriatic Boat Show with one of the shipyard’s most known model, the Itama Forty.

Naturally, Itama could not miss this important appointment at Fano where for years it has unveiled boats that have made the brand famous all over the world. The Fano Yacht Festival has also deservedly become one of the leading events in the Italian yachting calendar with over 35,000 visitors at its last edition.

The Itama fleet will then move onto Campania to take part in Navigare 2009, an event located in the same region as the shipyard’s new Torre Annunziata yacht centre. “Navigare 2009: a sea of opportunities” will be held from Thursday 23 to Sunday 26 April in the exclusive setting of the Circolo Posillipo Club in Naples. The event will present visitors with over forty craft that are either second hand or have “keys in hand” sales status. This is an excellent opportunity for the brand to meet the needs of all yacht lovers who prefer to test a yacht’s reliability and features personally and then make an immediate purchase. In this context, together with SuperVee Offshore & Poweryacht, the brand’s local dealer for Campania and Basilicata, Itama will display one of the models that has helped put the company in the history books: the Itama Forty, one of the most important open yachts on the nautical scene thanks to its distinctively timeless Italian design.

The next date with Itama style can then be enjoyed in the waters of Catalonia. From April 25 to May 3, together with its dealer for Spain, Nautica Vermell, the brand will go on stage at the Palma Boat Show, located in one of the most picturesque bays in the Mediterranean. The stars at this important exhibition, which celebrates its 26th anniversary this year, will be the Itama Forty and the Itama Fiftyfive, the two models that best represent the all-Italian flair of the company’s yachts that are distinguished by their deep V-shaped hulls, vintage style, sporting spirit and filter-free relationship with the sea.

At the same time as the show in Palma, from April 25 to May 3, the Itama yachts will conclude their tour of the Mediterranean at the Porto Rotondo Boat Show. This show, which has now become a consolidated nautical event on the “Costa Smeralda”, has reconfirmed for 2009 its statistics of over 60 exhibitors achieved in last year’s edition, with over 350 craft on display and available for sea trials. In agreement with Bocche di Bonifacio Yachting, Itama’s local dealer for Sardinia, Liguria, Lombardy and Piedmont, the brand will focus once again on two of the “evergreen” gems in its fleet, the Forty and the Fiftyfive. In fact these are the ideal choice for those who wish to live a total sea experience by exploring the numerous archipelagos scattered along Sardinia’s jagged north-eastern coastline and enjoying its limpid water and fabulous seascapes.

The Itama sales network

Moma Italia, founded in 2005, continues in the footsteps of MoMa, an enterprise that has been Itama’s sole distributor for the whole of Italy since 2001.

The MoMa Italia headquarters are located in the office block of the prestigious new Sa.Mo.Car Spa complex, Europe’s leading Ferrari and Maserati showroom. It has also opened new agency offices and a service centre in the splendid Porto Romano complex in Fiumicino. The Moma Italia business network covers the whole country thanks to the participation of local agents and dealers.

SuperVee Offshore & Poweryacht, the local dealer for Campania and Basilicata has its head offices in Naples and boasts a staff  of highly specialised experts. Thanks to its vast technical know-how, enhanced by over 30 years’ experience in the sector, and its irrepressible enthusiasm, today SuperVee is a point of reference for Itama lovers in terms of both new or second-hand yacht sales and purchases and for eventual service operations.

Bocche di Bonifacio Yachting is the brand’s exclusive distributor for Sardinia, Piedmont, Lombardy and Liguria. Moreover, its new sales point in Santa Margherita Ligure, opened in April 2008, also acts as a service point for Itama yachts.

Nautica Vermell, Itama’s distributor in Spain, has its central complex in Porto Cristo and a sales point in Palma, a highly strategic position, right at the centre of the Mediterranean.

The Itama fleet

When perfecting the new Itama design, which coincides with the shipyard’s entry into the Ferretti Group at the end of 2004, Itama’s yacht designer, architect Marco Casali, has been careful to retain the sleek appeal of Itama style and preserve the unmistakeable deep V-shaped hull that has always been the hallmark of these open yachts’ unrivalled sea handling.

The models currently in production include the Itama Forty, Itama FiftyFive and the Itama SeventyFive, the shipyard’s new flagship that was unveiled last June to the widespread applause of yachting experts and the general public. The current yachting year also holds in store the launch of the brand new Fifty.

The entire range is now constructed at the new Torre Annunziata Yacht Centre, a modern production area that covers an area of over 125,000m².

Itama Forty

The Itama Forty is a day cruiser that can accommodate up to 8 people aboard. The sleek, streamlined shape of this craft is uniquely and aggressively Itama, with its distinctive 22° deep “V” hull that guarantees unrivalled handling. Owners can even choose between two types of drive, a MAN system with twin 450hp engines or a CUMMINS system with twin 480hp engines. In both cases the result is a powerful, highly reliable open craft that can reach a peak speed of 34 knots. The below decks layout combines a refined, essential design with spacious, modular interiors. This model, which is particularly distinctive on account of its aft master cabin, bathroom and spacious dinette with retractable galley is available in two different versions, with one cabin or two.

Itama Fiftyfive

The Itama FiftyFive is an 18.82 metre long yacht that can accommodate up to 12 people. In one version it is equipped with twin 1360hp MAN Common Rail engines that offer a peak speed of 41 knots, whereas the standard version is fitted with twin 1100hp MAN Common Rail engines offering a peak speed of 37 knots, both in V-drive. Such outstanding performance is guaranteed by the shape of the boat, based on Itama’s distinctive and famous deep V-shaped hull that now has higher bows and a slimmer, loftier stern than before. The deck has also been redesigned with a tighter curved profile. This increases the sporting style of the boat which boasts sea performance as one of its most important features. The layout of the FiftyFive includes 3 cabins - a master, VIP and twin cabin - and 3 en-suite bathrooms, a dinette with galley, and a crew cabin in the stern with its own bathroom and separate stairway to the cockpit. The interior fittings are highly refined: zebrano, ostrich skin and alcantara to give the boat a rich, luxurious style.

Itama and the Ferretti Group

Itama is a brand of Ferretti S.p.A., one of the leading companies in the design, construction and marketing of luxury motoryachts, with a unique portfolio of nine of the most exclusive brands in the nautical world: Ferretti Yachts, Pershing, Itama, Bertram, Riva, Apreamare, Mochi Craft, CRN, and Custom Line.

The Ferretti Group, founded by Norberto Ferretti in 1968, is at the forefront of the nautical industry, thanks to its constant product and process innovation and continuous technological research. The Group is present in both Asia, with a sales representation and promotions office in Shanghai, and America.
